Iam a Silly Skylark !

I swear my life has more location updates than Google Maps.

Not because I couldn’t stay in one place.
But because life kept asking me to grow.

My first “home”  was the quarters given to my father by his employer.
That space still carries his memories, his voice, his presence.
That was where I first understood what home feels like.

Then came Singapore — early 2010.
Four homes in two years.

I always wanted a room filled with sunlight — maybe that’s why I never had a vitamin D deficiency…....or maybe because light was always my main source of hope.

I wasn’t just renting spaces… I was collecting versions of myself.
Messy rooms, new beginnings, learning independence one suitcase at a time.

One of the messy rooms in Singapore in 2010.

Then Japan happened in 2012.
Three houses in three years.

Earthquake-proof homes that taught me something deeper — even when the ground shakes, you learn how to stay steady.

My tiny garden in Tokyo.
Quiet mornings.

A discipline that turned me almost Japanese when it comes to cleanliness and order.

Then I returned to India in 2015… and finally moved into my own home which i bought in 2011 while in Singapore.
My home. Built from sacrifice, stubbornness, and belief.

Now I’m moving again —
I’m giving my home on lease for two years because my mother needs a stair-free life.

And honestly, if life teaches you anything, it’s this:
Strong women don’t just build homes — we redesign them around love.
Change is the only Constant.

After my mother's surgery in March 2026, by Mid May 2026, I’ll be shifting again. I have signed the contract, Three more months here… and I still can’t believe I’ll be leaving my dream home.

Because sometimes empowerment isn’t about staying in one place… it’s about knowing you can rebuild your space anywhere.

The plan is simple:
Finish the home loan in 2 Years. Release my home in 2 Years, Sell this place.
Buy another flat with ready cash.
And finally break up with home loans forever.

Can you imagine?

From serial mover → strategic investor.

I bought my home for 45 lakhs INR in 2011. Today it’s worth more than Rupees 1 crore. The loan would have been finished by now… if I hadn’t taken a top-up loan in 2016.

But numbers don’t tell the real story.

I still remember the days when I survived on one meal a day just to arrange the down payment. Every rupee carried a dream. Every sacrifice had a purpose.

And then came the questions…
“Your younger sister is getting married — why don’t you use this money for your marriage?”
Some relatives didn’t even speak to me because I chose to buy a home instead of following the expected marriage timeline.

Today when I look back, this house is more than an investment — it is proof that sometimes the bravest decisions are the loneliest ones.

From being questioned… to becoming my own security.
From doubt… to ownership.

And honestly, every sacrifice was worth it.

From survival mode → boss mode.
Iam my own Boss !

There will be one more post on this topic before I leave this space by May end 2026.
After that, maybe I will never return here again.

Until then — a rented apartment, another chapter, another version of me.

Because change is the only constant…
and I am my own home.

I feel like a silly skylark…flying without direction, sometimes lost between skies, sometimes unsure where the journey is taking me.

There were moments when I thought I had lost my way.

And before I even realised it —
the road that felt random…
was leading me exactly where I needed to go.

Maybe that’s what life really is.

We think we are wandering aimlessly…
but somewhere in the background, the divine is playing a melody only our soul understands and it is taking us where iam needed to go.

I may have arrived here through what felt like the wrong path for everyone, but perhaps this was always the destination meant for me. Even when it felt uncertain, it was the journey I was meant to take.

My motivational song !
