A Note to Myself !

A Note to Myself - "Stay Strong".

Florence Given talks about how men assume that women need their safety, approval, or validation.

She entered the office the way she moves through life — calm, grounded, and self-contained. A woman who walks with her own rhythm, not in anyone’s shadow and not holding anyone’s hand for permission.

She never asked a man for money, favours, or protection.
Her home stands on the foundation of her own years of work, talent, discipline, and quiet perseverance.

Yet, some men feel the need to comment on her independence with vulgar remarks:
“I don’t do charity. I only pay income tax. You can work and earn your own money.”

A simple question echoes back to society:
“When did I ever ask you for charity? When did I ever seek your protection? When did I ever ask for your money?”

Why is it so hard to accept that a woman can stand tall without leaning on anyone?
Why is her self-reliance so unsettling?

So tell me—
Is my bank balance really your concern?
Or is the true discomfort the fact that I never asked you for a single rupee?

Because a woman who needs nothing becomes a threat to a man who feels powerful only when a woman depends on him.

And so I tell now  — Is he twisting the narrative claiming that i ever needed him ?
for power,
for career,
for money,
for anything at all?

Is his ego so fragile that he must create a fantasy where I lean on him, so he can pretend he stands taller?

Or worse — just like in the Bollywood movie Pink,
is he trying to justify to society that he had some sort of “right” over me?
That anything between us was voluntary,
that he was eligible,
that he was wanted?

The same old script —
the woman’s strength erased,
the man’s lie elevated,
and the truth twisted to protect fragile masculinity.

This poem is so powerful — it helps any woman find her way back to herself.
Whenever I feel alone, I return to it. It holds me together.

To all the men out there,
I want to ask just one question —
Have you ever noticed how similar you are to the accused standing in the witness box in Pink?

You’re not merely assuming that a woman needs a man for money, safety, or protection.
No — it goes deeper.

You lie to yourself and to society, insisting that she needs your money, your protection, your presence…not because she ever asked, but because the lie gives you permission to claim her.

Because if you convince the world she depends on you, then you can pretend you have some right over her — over her choices, her dignity, even her story.

Just like in Pink, the danger was never in what the woman did.
The danger was in what the man invented to justify his entitlement.

That is exactly what happened with me ; Iam a Virgin ; But again and again multiple times i was accused of going behind men for Money ; Baby ; Wealth and all the SUPER WOMAN were supporting these men.

A Note to Myself !
Dear Sree ; You are not intimidating ;
He is intimidated and, there is a difference ;
Cheers !

Yes, I agree — I am not operating at my fullest potential in my career yet.
But I trust that God will open the right path for me, in the right time, in the right way.

Coaching, mentorship, opportunities — the very things that should have been given on merit —
came with hidden conditions back in 2018.
Conditions that demanded I sleep with someone to receive what others were handed freely.

I wasn’t able to accept it back then, and even if it were offered free today in 2025, I would still have to decline.

I will not live on borrowed kindness.
I will not decorate exploitation as “opportunity.”
And I will never purchase my progress at the price of my dignity.
