But the question is—should a human being simply “trust this natural process”? For animals, natural selection is survival. For humans, who possess consciousness and dignity, life must go beyond the process.
Dignity is the moral worth that distinguishes human beings from animals. Unlike animals, we have the ability to discern right from wrong and to act with that awareness. This power of moral choice is what defines our humanity.
Righteousness itself is unshakable, but what can be fragile is your dignity. When you compromise your dignity for sex, wealth or power you also push the other person to compromise theirs.
Swami Vivekananda said Stand Like a Rock - Just like Lord Ram.
“The Vivekananda Rock Memorial stands beside the grand statue of the Tamil poet-sage Thiruvalluvar, whose timeless teaching reminds us: ‘What is more noble than kindness?’”
You know why—I am still a virgin.
I once met a man who said, “You don’t have a home, so you must love me.”
I walked away—and built a home of my own.
Another said, “You don’t have a job, so if I give you one, you’ll have to love me.”
I refused—and searched for a company where work wasn’t tied to sex.
Then came one who declared, “If you love a rich man, society will call you a bitch. Instead, work 23 hours a day, earn your qualifications to love, and only then will you be worthy.”
That wasn’t advice—it was an attempt to place the weight of society’s judgments on my shoulders, to tame me and domesticate me.
Dignity = Moral Worth ; Self is nothing but dignity ; because only humans possess dignity and not animals.
The more dignity you uphold, the more you love yourself. But if you deceive yourself ; your dignity diminishes—and with it, your capacity to love yourself and it is with same capacity you become capable of loving others.
Thats exactly the reason why when you compromise your dignity for sex, wealth or power you also push the other person to compromise theirs.
The measure of dignity and love you hold within is the very measure you can extend to the world outside. For the world is a reflection of the self.
These are my thoughts !
Yet, Lord Ram’s compassion shows us that grace can transcend that process—for even stones can float.
300 KM from Kanyakumari...
You just need a little compassion to uphold your dignity.
