Poverty Builds Character !

Last week, I posted a video of myself rolling on water in a bikini. The response? A flood of judgment from men—some went as far as calling me lazy and even blamed me that my financial condition is the result of my laziness.

In many parts of North India, some women stay in marriages for 15 years  solely for financial security. These women, unable to face poverty and accustomed to a luxurious lifestyle, often wait for years and years and years — waiting  for that one job, one stroke of luck, or one opportunity, one chance, one god father to break free. When they finally find it, they choose separation from husband ; buy a home and then buy a car !

While I empathize with their struggles, it is equally important to ensure that men do not exploit their weakness to mistreat other women.

In my entire life, I was never waiting for that one stroke of luck, one chance, one god father or one opportunity that transformed my life — I created my own opportunities,  I shaped my own luck.
I made my own magic.

In 2008, my father passed away, I bought my first car—an Alto in 2009. Everyone recommended it was the best car to learn driving.

Thats my first car ; I was not waiting for that one chance ; one luck to buy a car !
I made my own magic.

In the same year in 2009, My family were asked to vacate the company quarters we had called home provided to my father ;  Suddenly, we were homeless, vulnerable, and left staring at an uncertain future.
I sold my car and moved to Singapore ;  armed with nothing but 3 things ;
1.Determination
2.A Bag  and
3.A Suitcase

By 2011, I had arranged the finances needed to buy a home in Bengaluru. My mom selected the house, and I flew in from Singapore for  one-day for negotiation. The house was still under construction, located near Bengaluru International Airport, which itself was partially under development.

I had secured ₹12 lakhs for the down payment, with the rest covered by a bank loan. However, another buyer was willing to pay ₹15 lakhs upfront. The house owner, gesturing dismissively, remarked, "Where are these beggars coming from to buy a home?"

Tears rolled out of my eyes !

But less than a month later, the same real estate owner called my mom, and he was ready to sell the house for my ₹12 lakh down payment. The reason? My high CIBIL score and strong financial track record, while the other buyer failed to qualify for a loan.

And that’s how I bought my home in Bengaluru.

I never waited for that one job, one chance, or one stroke of luck to transform my life. I always believed in creating my own magic—never once dreaming of a Godfather!

In 2018, one stroke of bad luck, one wrong job opportunity, and one unfortunate chance turned my life into a nightmare.

In less than a year, my CIBIL score plummeted. I had to take loans—not for luxury, but to fight and survive.

If I could buy a car and a home without a Godfather, fixing my CIBIL was never going to be a big deal.
I worked hard to rebuild my CIBIL Score on my own.
My Father always said when you help yourself - Universe will help you !

We all know that when you settle a loan with a bank, you often get a discount on the closure amount, but your CIBIL score doesn’t improve. However, one of the leading banks had a remarkable scheme for the DEI community.

They offered me a settlement, but instead of marking the account as "settled" in CIBIL—which would have lowered my score—they completely removed the loan account from my records after closure. As a result, my CIBIL score instantly increased by 50 Points, which was a huge relief for me.

However, this offer wasn’t available to everyone—I had to qualify for it. Since I had a very high CIBIL score before the sexual harassment incident in 2018-2019, the bank, after verifying my financial history, helped me recover my CIBIL score.

I still need to make some more improvements to my CIBIL score, after which I plan to buy my second car in 2026.

This journey has proven that one stroke of bad luck, one unfortunate incident, or one wrong job opportunity can completely change your life into a Nightmare !

Does hard work without character truly have any real value?
I have seen hard working thieves and hard working prostitutes ; does hard work has the power to transform wrongdoing into righteousness ?  I dont have it in my DNA !
