A demon by name Idumban was the first MAN who tried to BALANCE KAVADI.
As directed by Lord Shiva ; Sage Agastya wanted Idumban to carry 2 Hills on his shoulders.
Shivagiri which represents Lord Shiva = Masculine Energy
Shaktigiri which represents Goddess Shakti = Feminine Energy
Idumban bore the hills slung across his shoulders in the form of Kavadi one on each side ; when he reached Palani hill he felt fatigued and places the kavadi down at the foot of Palani hill to take rest.
When Idumban resumed his journey he could not lift the kavadi ; Lord Karthikeya approached him and told him that he will carry the burden of BALANCE on behalf of him !
Karthikeya temple is always found on Hill.
At the foot of the hill and sometime midway of the hill - You can find Idumban.
Metaphorically it means at the point you meet with IDUMBAN (Inner Demon) ; Then onwards Lord Karthik will carry the BALANCE OF LORD SHIVA AND GODDESS SHAKTI WITHIN YOURSELF on your behalf.
Balance is difficult - To maintain BALANCE you have to sacrifice ; Sometimes you might have to sacrifice SUCCESS and choose FAILURE only to maintain ULTIMATE BALANCE.

To move from the Lowest Energy Centre to the Highest Energy Centre you must FAIL MULTIPLE TIMES !
