Today (July 23 2022) marks an important festival on Pazhani Hill.
The festival is called "Aadi Karthigai Festival" and it is celebrated by Tamils and Keralites.
On this day Lord Karthik is worshiped.
What is this Aadi Karthigai Festival ?
As informed earlier Human Body has 7 Energy Centres.
Lord Karthik (Son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Shakti) was born as 6 Different Babies from the first 6 Energy Centres.
1. Muladhara - Energy for Survival
2. Swadishtana - Energy for Sex
3. Manipura - Energy for Power
4. Anahata - Energy for Love
5. Vishuddha - Energy for Truth
6. Ajna - Energy for Intuition ; Perception and Imagination
Lord Karthik grew up suckling 6 Mothers.
The 6 Mothers represents the 6 Energy Centres.
These Mothers are called "The 6 Karthika Mothers".
Goddess Shakti on this day (Aadi Karthigai) combines all the 6 different Babies together into one Single Baby and Lord Karthik is born out of Ajna Chakra - The Third Eye of Lord Shiva.
As per Mythology Lord Karthik was uninformed about his BIRTH by his parents.
One day Sage Narada visited Lord Shiva and Goddess Shakti and he gave them a WISDOM MANGO ; and told them that the one who ate it will gain WISDOM AND KNOWLEDGE ; But the fruit cannot be CUT.
Both Lord Ganesha and Lord Karthik wanted the Mango.
Lord Shiva kept the Mango as a prize which will be won by the one who first circles the universe thrice.
Both Lord Ganesha and Lord Karthik were ready to circle the world.
Lord Karthik jumped on his peacock and zoomed off. While Lord Ganesha circles his parents thrice and wins the competition.
Unable to accept Failure Lord Karthik flew in temper to a HILL.
An old Grand Mother who was a poetess visits the Hill and asks Lord Karthik to show her his Face to which the Lord replies that he is NOT COMPETENT enough to even receive a FRUIT from his parents and he does not want to SHOW HIS FACE TO ANYONE !
The Old Grand Mother then addresses Lord Karthik -
As a WISDOM FRUIT who was born out of 6 Mothers !
As a WISDOM FRUIT who suckled 6 Mothers !
As a WISDOM FRUIT born out of the Third Eye of his Begetter !
As a WISDOM FRUIT born out of the Passion of his Begetter and Right Intent of his Mother !
Passion ; Action ; and Noble Intention ; Creates Progress ! Score = 100%
Since then the Hill came to be known was PAZHAMNI Hill - PAZANI Hill.
It is on this Hill Lord Karthik understood his Birth History.
Today is the MOST AUSPICIOUS DAY to worship Lord Karthik ; It is on this day the 6 different Babies were combined into one single Baby - Lord Karthik.
There is a song which describes the spiritual event.
It starts with a conversation between the Old Grand Mother and Lord Karthik ; followed by a song which describes the Spiritual Event of the Birth of Lord Karthik.
