OUT OF BOX THINKING - "RELIGION DOES NOT HAVE ANY RELATIONSHIP WITH BUSINESS".

Today we will discuss HOW IMPORTANT IS RELIGION IN BUSINESS !
Alright ; All of you please wear your THINKING CAP ! 
Lets explore - HOW TO THINK INSIDE THE BOX.

Are you someone who is running away from RELIGION ? 

(Or) are you someone who believe that RELIGION and BUSINESS are 2 SEPARATE THINGS ?

Today iam going to explain why ; RELIGION IS CORE TO ANY BUSINESS.

Let me give you an example :

When i was in Tokyo every month we had Dinner with client.

Every time we had Dinner with client - 2 days prior to the dinner i would practice eating with CHOP-STICKS ; Because the client feels good when they see me eating with CHOP-STICKS. It simply means that I LOVE THE JAPANESE RELIGION AND CULTURE.

Let me introduce you all to Peter Drucker !
Peter Drucker said - Every Individual in the Society should abide by a MORAL CODE that is based on his RELIGION and that there is NO SEPARATE MORAL CODE FOR BUSINESS ETHICS.

Iam not sure how may of you have studied BUSINESS ETHICS in COLLEGE / UNIVERSITY ; But i have studied BUSINESS ETHICS as one of my module/subject for 5.5 Years.

3.0 Years ; Bachelors Degree in Business Management
2.5 years ; Masters Degree in Business Administration

BUSINESS ETHICS refers to the MORAL VALUES AND CODE OF CONDUCT applied to Business. The Source of Business Ethics are : 

1. RELIGION AND CULTURE ; 

2. LAW.

The major religions that created Business Ethics are : Christianity ; Hinduism ; Buddhism ; Judaism ; Islamic.

THE SOURCE OF BUSINESS ETHICS !

Lord Shiva is the King of Yoga and Yoga stems from HINDUISM, which today is a part of every  BUSINESS.

What is CULTURE ?

Culture =  ATTITUDE TOWARDS PERFECTION. MAN IS ALWAYS IN PURSUIT OF PERFECTION.

Zen Buddhism is based on  Wabi-Sabi  which clearly forms the SURFACE of most of the Asia's ORGANIZATION CULTURE AND VALUES.

Wabi = NATURE that represents PERFECTION = Follow MONEY ; POWER ; WEALTH ; JOB TITLES etc = The Genuine Positive Human Behavior.
Sabi = FORCES OF NATURE Ex. AUTUMN ; SNOWFALL or CHEERY BLOSSOM  that represents HUMAN IMPERFECTION. The Genuine Negative Human Behavior.

Hinduism is very similar to ZEN.

POSITIVITY = ACCEPTING GENUINE POSITIVE AND GENUINE NEGATIVE HUMAN BEHAVIOR IN TOTALITY.

EAST dont follow a HUSTLE CULTURE. As human beings we all have IMPERFECTIONS ! 

EAST has accepted HUMAN IMPERFECTIONS not just as a part of HUMAN NATURE but also as a part of ORGANIZATION CULTURE.

CULTURE OF WEST = TOTAL PERFECTION.

Perfection is a CULTURE TRAIT characterized by an effort to be FLAWLESS.

You have to be PERFECT AND POSITIVE all the time which creates a SCARCITY MINDSET inside the brain. The Americans PRETEND LIKE EVERYTHING IS GOING GREAT !  By pretending that they are POSITIVE VIBES ALL DAY ; they deny the validity of GENUINE NEGATIVE HUMAN EXPERIENCE ! 

Some of the India IT Companies have almost imported PERFECTIONISM from US.

Which is why i have decided to either pick up an offer from Analytics ; Media or Banking Industry. Yet to finalize about it. Thankfully - There is no scarcity of Jobs in industries other than IT. Iam not moving back to IT Industry.

Most of us believe that ;

Religion and Culture is something for yourself and your community ; 

Keep Your Religion and Culture to yourself,
I should keep my Religion and Culture to myself,

We should  not bring RELIGION and CULTURE to the workplace - this is something for my home.

THIS IS WRONG !

THE REASON BEHIND THIS KIND OF ATTITUDE TOWARDS RELIGION AND CULTURE IS  - "WE DON'T HAVE THE ABILITY TO DISAGREE WITH PEOPLE WHILE STILL REMAINING RESPECTFUL". HENCE WE AVOID TALKING ABOUT RELIGION AND CULTURE AT WORK PLACE.

For me PERFECTION = SELF ABUSE.

There are no EVIDENCE to prove that PERFECTIONIST are better at work. 

They just FAKE IT !

In fact i would urge each and every one of you to not only DISCUSS CULTURE AND RELIGION on social media Platforms ; but bring it into CONFERENCE ROOMS inside your Organization.

Maturity is the ability to DISAGREE with someone while still being RESPECTFUL.

Religion is a MACRO DRIVER of Business - how can we leave this content and be AUTHENTIC ?

When it comes to PERSONAL ROMANTIC LIFE ;  the PERFECTIONIST will set high unattainable standards making SELF-WORTH contingent upon those standards. This is LABOUR.

My religion and culture teach me that : 

PERFECTION AT WORK = LABOUR.

PERFECTION IN LOVE = SELF-ABUSE.
