As per SIMON SINEK - A leader is like a Parent ; If you have hard times in your family you will not consider laying off your child. During hard times - when a LEADER of an organization lays off his team to protect his own DISPROPORTIONATE SALARY AND BONUS he is VIOLATING THE VERY DEFINITION OF LEADERSHIP.
Chanakya Dreamt of a SELF-SUFFICIENT ECONOMY that is free of POVERTY AND UNEMPLOYMENT.
According to Arthashastra authored by Chanakya - "POVERTY AND UNEMPLOYMENT IS THE OUTCOME OF THE CORRUPTED MANAGEMENT".
Today we have many more MAN OF SUCCESS (Dhana Nanda) than MAN OF VALUE (Chandragupta Maurya) in both GOVERNMENT as well as CORPORATE WORLD.
A Man of Success - King Dhana Nanda once ruled Nanda Dynasty (The present day North India). During his rule people suffered from Hunger and Poverty.
Chanakya who was insulted by King Dhana Nanda vowed to overthrow the MAN OF SUCCESS (King Dhana Nanda) and bring the MAN OF VALUE on throne.
Guru Chanakya then went in search of a Man of Value and found Chandragupta Maurya.
Chandragupta was a MAN OF VALUE because he ensured that nobody in his team suffered from hunger.
What differentiates a Man of Success from a Man of Value is :
A Man of Value will keep EQUALITY AND EMPATHY towards others as CORE VALUE.
Only a Man of value can ensure A ZERO % POVERTY / HUNGER / UNEMPLOYMENT.
If we apply Arthashastra to corporate world. As per Arthashastra / Economics :
Unemployment (Employees on Bench in an organization) is a DIRECT OUTCOME of CORRUPTED MANAGEMENT.
The % ge of Employees unemployed sitting on Bench = % ge of Corrupted Management.
10 % ge of employees sitting on bench = 10% ge of corruption in management.
20 % ge of employees sitting on bench = 20% ge of corruption in management.
This is the SIMILARITY that exists between SIMON SINEK and CHANAKYA.
Based on the history of Economic Thoughts - Arthashastra is a branch of RIG VEDA.
Chanakya Simplified the Vedic thoughts and documented the summary of the same in the name of Arthashastra.
