Today we will understand SOCRATIC IRONY.
Socrates was one of the SMARTEST people who lived on Earth. Socrates was the king of Irony.
Socrates authored no texts but his philosophy and teachings on RELIGION AND POLITICS were authored and published by his student PLATO.
Socrates was an Ironist. Socrates always conceals his philosophical message with IRONY making it accessible only to those who can separate parts of speech that are Ironic.
Socrates words always had DOUBLE MEANING.

Euthyphro by Plato captures all IRONIC DIALOGUES between Socrates and Euthyphro (Religious Prophet).
The Socrates quote and idea that put him to DEATH.
The quote Indicates THE VICTORY OF RELIGION. People were but unable to UNDERSTAND HIS IRONY.
Socrates was sentenced to DEATH because people assumed that he was not worshiping the STATE OF RELIGION.
Even today some people believe that Socrates did not believe in GOD AND RELIGION.
The above QUOTE is an IRONY. I BELIEVE SOCRATES WAS VERY SPIRITUAL AND BELIEVED IN RELIGION AND GOD. DO YOU BELIEVE ME?

Its like i have to say - "IAM A HINDU OR IAM A MUSLIM" in order to make people believe that i believe in the state of religion;
If i say "IAM A CITIZEN OF INDIA" it would mean that i dont believe in the STATE OF RELIGION.
Did i lose you ?
REALITY : Iam capable to claiming that IAM A CITIZEN OF INDIA only if iam religious and spiritual.
Did i lose you ?
Euthyphro was a Religious Prophet who believed in the STATE OF RELIGION.
Euthyphro says - "THATS SO FUNNY" and walks away without a "SMILE".
Oh..to SMILE you need to SURRENDER YOUR EGO which means you have to accept that you cannot answer what Socrates is ASKING? lol... Euthyphro believes in the state of religion but he does not understand SPIRITUALITY. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?

Lets review the Malayalam Movie Malik which is based on Socrates Philosophy.
Usually i write a review about a movie only after watching the movie twice.

The story is about a Muslim by name Sulaiman who is the owner (Malik) of the fisher-folk in a village in Kerala. The village has equal number of Christians and under the ownership of Sulaiman (Malik) both Muslims and Christians helped each other in survival and lived peacefully. Malik married a christian girl by name Roseline.
Both Muslims and Christians were very RELIGIOUS and helped each other.
In other words RELIGION DOMINATED POLITICS.
Malik's words were over and above any Political leaders of the village. The 2004 Tsunami washed away most of the village and people started VOTING for political leaders who met their basic requirements like food ; clothing and electricity.
Political Leaders in order to establish Power started dividing Muslims and Christians.
Malik - Sulaiman was murdered only because he considered himself a CITIZEN and not a MUSLIM.
Movie reminds us of Socrates Philosophy.
"There is only one BATTLE : BATTLE between POLITICS (Materialism) and RELIGION (Spirituality)".
No 2 religions can fight with each other ; Only politics can make 2 religions fight with each other.
THE VICTORY OF POLITICS = FAILURE OF RELIGION.
FAILURE OF RELIGION = BATTLE BETWEEN RELIGIONS.
Another IRONY.
Movie has a very romantic song which tempt me to watch this movie again and again.
The song was filmed in Lakshadweep in Minicoy Beach.
Malayalam is the official language of Lakshadweep.
THEERAME is a Malayalam word meaning - "O SEASHORE".
This song has a mix of Ancient Christian Hymn + Ancient Islam Hymn.
The rhythm of the shores of Minicoy turn into a LULLABY.
One can instantaneously dance for the song without any prior preparation!
