Today lets explore the essence of Rabindranath Tagore's Poetry and Literature.
I have read only Gitanjali.
Today on the 13th death anniversary of my father i dedicate this post to my father who gave me Gitanjali as a New Year Gift in my primary school. He received it from his employer as a gift in the form of Dairy/Calender.
Gitanjali Bengali Collection has 157 songs/poems and 103 songs have been translated into English.
Tagore received NOBEL PRIZE IN LITERATURE largely for Gitanjali.
In continuation to my previous post......
The identity of collective consciousness is found in most of the poems of Gitanjali.
How many of you are aware of the world famous poem of Rabindranth Tagore - "Where the mind is without fear" - One of the collections of Gitanjali ?
It is the 35th poem of Gitanjali.

What is the meaning of this POEM ? Lets understand !
Have you seen the movie Madras Cafe ?
The movie is about Civil War between India and Sri Lanka and the assassination of the former Prime Minister of India - Rajiv Gandhi.
In the movie in the climax ; The Priest (Church father) asks a Question to Vikram (Soldier) - "WHO WON THE BATTLE ?"
Vikram answers - "HE DOES'NT KNOW ? BUT IN THIS BATTLE INDIA LOST THEIR PRIME MINISTER AND SRI LANKA LOST THEIR FUTURE".
Vikram then later walks away reciting Rabindranath Tagore's 35th Poem of Gitanjali which he received as a wedding gift from his father in law - WHERE THE MIND IS WITHOUT FEAR !
There is a CORRELATION between the above POEM/SONG and the ANSWER which Vikram gave to the question raised by the Church Priest.
TRY TO INTERPRET ! I will leave it OPEN ENDED.
This poem SUMS UP all the BATTLE that we fight in our life.
All of Tagore's Poetry and Literature in general argues that every individual's definition of Truth is relative to their state of consciousness.
Satyameva Jayate is the Motto of Indian Judiciary.
But the Goddess of Justice is Blind folded. Do you know why ?
The higher your consciousness ; the more closer you are to TRUTH.
The lower your consciousness ; the more distant/away you are from TRUTH.
Each one of us have our own TRUTH which is RELATIVE to our level of CONSCIOUSNESS.
Collective Consciousness = Average consciousness of all individuals of the society.
How much ever high your INDIVIDUAL CONSCIOUSNESS is ; Ultimately what we experience in life is the COLLECTIVE CONSCIOUSNESS.
Lets take another real example :
Shahrukh Khan is a great Bollywood actor.
Last year there was a NOISE about why Bollywood actors including Shahrukh Khan are keeping quiet about the DRUG SCAM in Bollywood. Shahrukh Khan had a choice to RAISE THE COLLECTIVE CONSCIOUSNESS by speaking up against Bollywood Drug Abuse ; but he decided to keep quiet.
Today his son has been put into Jail for Drug Consumption and Drug Deal. His own son becomes the victim of low collective consciousness.
Lets take another example :
In an organization there could be many teams whose collective consciousness could be low. The beliefs of such group has repeatedly allowed them to see the ILLUSION as REALITY.
Such group perceive CHANGE as their FAILURE. If they continue to maintain IGNORANCE as COLLECTIVE CONSCIOUSNESS then no one will see them as WRONG or JUDGE them as FAILURE.
Their accumulated EGO allows them to go to any extent to prove that their IGNORANCE is the REALITY. They consistently attempt in BULLDOZING the rights of the INNOCENT and hurting their DIGNITY.
THEY MIGHT AS WELL SUCCEED IN PROVING THAT THEIR ILLUSION IS THE REALITY.
FOR THEM CHANGE IS A FAILURE.
But the question remains the same - WHO WON THE BATTLE ?
The answer lies in the poem ! Gitanjali : Song 35
Let me introduce you to Gitanjali Song 102 :
This poem is very much correlated to what iam encountered with today ; My battle has not come to an End ! Yet ! However ;
They come to me LAUGH AT ME and SAY - This battle will not take you anywhere ?
I know not HOW TO ANSWER THEM !
They come to me LAUGH AT ME and SAY - You are a FOOL !
I know not HOW TO ANSWER THEM !
They come to me LAUGH AT ME and SAY - You will LOSE everything !
I know not HOW TO ANSWER THEM !
However there is a SUPREME POWER who is SMILING at their IGNORANCE ; He knows that ; THE VICTORY OF LOW CONSCIOUS = FAILURE OF MANKIND which one day which damage HIMSELF.
