Although my first love is working with water colours and oil paint ; i occasionally work with Acrylic Painting specially when i want to renovate an idol at home.
Painting is often an expression of spirituality.

It is this SWAN that attracted me to Painting.
The cover page of my class 2 drawing book had a swan moving in water. I wanted to paint the swan moving in water however when my teacher never asked the class to draw the picture of a swan as homework ; over the weekend i sat down with a white paper that i borrowed from my father and created my FIRST EVER DRAWING.
A SWAN MOVING IN WATER WAS MY FIRST EVER DRAWING AND COLOURING - SELF PROJECT.
I wish i could have preserved that painting ; today iam able to connect the DOTS.
Swan is the symbol of Advaita Vedanta.
SWAN has the capacity to separate MILK from WATER and drink MILK only.
Metaphorically it means SWAN has the capacity to separate REALITY from ILLUSION.
SWAN IS DIVINE.
Swan is an Important MOTIF in Advaitha Vedanta.
The PURPOSE of every human being is to acquire the ABILITY of a SWAN in order to separate REALITY from ILLUSION. We have to become that INTELLIGENT.
The idol that iam going to be renovating today is GODDESS SHARADA.
The Goddess of Sringeri Sharada Peetham is the prime seat of Advaita Vedanta located in Sringeri - Karnataka.
Sringeri Sharada Peetham was established by a Saint from Kerala - "Adi Shankaracharya".
As seen above Goddess Saraswati has a SWAN besides her.
It symbolizes the ability to DISCERN SATYAM (REAL) from MITHYA (UNREAL).
This Goddess represents the EVER FLOWING CONSCIOUSNESS in its ORIGINAL FORM.
In class 1 ; My class teacher asked all of us to draw and colour HEN WITH EGGS.
The picture already existed in the drawing book and all that we had to do was colour.
Since the drawing page itself was white my classmates were worried that if they paint eggs with white colour the teacher may not be able to see the work done and in order to fetch high marks they decided to apply PINK ; YELLOW and RED to EGGS.
But i painted eggs with white colour. My father told me that we should be REAL with drawing and he helped me paint the eggs using white colour.
My teacher told me that she cannot see my eggs and asked me to apply grey colour to eggs. I decided to DISOBEY my teacher without worrying about MARKS.
Over a period of time until my high school my father started utilizing me in his office work. He being a civil engineer his work was only to DRAW day and night.
From my father ; I learnt how to apply Imagination and Intuition to drawing.

I learnt that " The only way to do great work is to LOVE what you do".
The colour WHITE is the symbol of PURE KNOWLEDGE which when bestowed on the SEEKER ; the seeker will be able to separate REALITY from ILLUSION and consume only the REALITY.
Iam only trying to CONNECT THE DOTS.
As per Advaita Vedanta ;
Light = Consciousness which is formless and colourless.
Energy = COLOURS.
The source of all colours is WHITE and this white colour produces 7 different colours VIBGYOR.
Every other colour is the additive mix of VIBGYOR that is produced by White.
And Goddess Saraswati represents the WHITE LIGHT.
The Divine form inspiring all creative energies.
The trigger for Literature, Music, Arts, Dance, Philosophy.
She makes CONSCIOUSNESS FLOW like a RIVER.
While i was painting the idol ; i suddenly remembered Aesop's fable.
With due RESPECT to everyone i present a NICE STORY.
An idol maker wanted to deliver an idol of God to a customer ; he kept the idol on a donkey and started his journey ; on the way people stopped to bow down to pray.
Donkey stopped moving where he was held in such high esteem. The donkey stood with his HEAD HELD HIGH ; Nothing his master did will induce him to walk again ; THE DONKEY ASSUMED THAT PEOPLE BOW DOWN TO HIM.
Idol maker took the idol and walked away and the people started following the Idol maker and the donkey ran ashamed.
Lessons from the story to the corporate ;
ROLE is a DONKEY.
OUR WORK is IDOL.
AN EMPLOYEE is an IDOL MAKER.
PEOPLE RESPECT THE IDOL (WORK) AND NOT THE DONKEY (ROLE).
Despite of 120 resources tools and techniques she was unable to establish herself in 10 years time ; i really doubt the character of this woman who established herself in less than 1.5 years having no access to resources ; technology and tools.
THIS PROVES THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE DONT SEE WORK AS WORSHIP. They believe that WORK is a MATERIAL that is assigned to you by someone else sitting in US/UK/SINGAPORE. The more DEEP is your relationship with them the MORE BUSY YOU ARE. This is ILLUSION and INSULT.
With a DONKEY (ROLE) and Without the IDOL (WORK) the donkey ran away ashamed in Atlanta.
At the same time...
WITHOUT GOD'S GRACE WE ARE A ZERO.
GOD'S GRACE = KNOWLEDGE AND WISDOM.

When you utter the syllable HAM you INHALE and and when you utter the word SA you EXHALE
If you keep repeating the word HAMSA the order of Sanskrit syllable is REVERSED . You will INHALE with SA and EXHALE with HAM.
