Yazh Moori Nathar! Part - 1.

Yazh Moori Nathar is a Tamil word.
Yazh means VEENA.
Moori means BREAK.
Nathar means LORD SHIVA.
"Yazh Moori Nathar" means "Veena breaking Lord Shiva".
"Veena breaking Lord Shiva" is associated with Tongue Twister.
We will explore Tongue Twisting.

A tounge twister song!

Before we explore this, let us understand the divinity of Veena. Veena is considered as a musical instrument of God.
Yazh means VEENA - similar to the one which Lord Narada is holding.

From centuries Hindus have coaxed out of this Instrument a system of Music that has no parallel to the world. It is believed that this instrument is the oldest of all musical instruments and existed from Veda Yuga.
Goddess Saraswati is seen holding Veena.
Saint  Thyagaraja (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tyagaraja)describes Lord Shiva in his
Keerthanam  ‘Mokshamugaladha’ as
‘Veena Vadhana loludou sivamano vidhamerugaru’
Its a Telugu sentence meaning :
"Lord Shiva is depicted as being fond of Veena Music  and it is agreed  that  Veena is the only Instrument with which short and long musical dynamics can be easily played with EASE without INTERRUPTION".
In this context, Shiva is known as 'Veenadhara Dakshinamoorthy'.

Now spiritually our Mind is like Musical Instrument Veena, if you are capable of understanding the long and short life dynamics of life and play with ease then you are LIBERATED.

The one who knows to play the mysteries of Veena effortlessly finds Liberation.
“Veena has twenty four frets, four strings along the frets and three strings at the side.
The below four strings depict the four Vedas, namely
Sãrini which signifies Rig Veda,
Panchama which signifies Yajur Veda,
Mandra which signifies Sãma Veda and
Anumandra which signifies Atharvana Veda.
All the four strings are said to have Shuddha Satthvaguna.”

The saint of recent times Guru Raghavendra Swamy from Karnataka was an unparalleled exponent of Veena.

It is believed that while Guru Raghavendra Swamy was singing his own Bhairavi composition "Indhu enage Govinda" playing Veena inside Udupi Sri Krishna Temple -  it is believed that the Lord Narayana came alive and danced.

Later he sang the same song in Mantralayam.

My favourite Kannada Keerthanam that was composed and sung by Guru Raghavendra Swamy to which Lord Krishna Danced.

If you are MISLEADING people, UNIVERSE will give you the same! You will also be MISLED.

Now lets explore - "Yazh Moori Nathar".
There were 2 devotees of Lord Shiva one Singer (Sambandar) and another Veena (Yazh)  Musician (Thiru-Nilakantha Yalpannar Nayanar in Tamil Nadu.
Thiru-Nilakantha Yalpannar Nayanar would compose music for Sambandar's Hymns. Thiru-Nilakantha Yalpannar Nayanar's relatives thought that Sambandar was becoming famous because of Thiru-Nilakantha Yalpannar Nayanar's  veena music.
One day Thiru-Nilakantha Yalpannar Nayanar asked Sambandar to sing a song to which he would not be able to tune in the Veena-Yazh.

Sambandar sang a tounge twister to which Thiru-Nilakantha Yalpannar Nayanar was not able to tune in the Yazh, Thiru-Nilakantha Yalpannar Nayanar was upset and he decided to break the Veena-Yazh. All this happened inside Lord Shiva Temple.

We will explore what happened after that in the part 2 of the post.

A Glimpse of tounge twister Tamil Keerthanam dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathy.

We will explore the Tongue Twister song in detail in the part 2 of the post.
