Guruvayur Sree Krishna - When Love OVERWEIGHS everything else!

Welcome back , today we will explore Guruvayur Sree Krishna Temple located at Thrissur district in Kerala.
As inter state travel is still not safe due to Corona Crisis, i thought of writing a post from my Earlier Travel to Guruvayur in 2015.

Guruvayur Sree Krishna Temple is located at Thrissur district  in God's Own Country Kerala.
Thrissur is called as "The Land of Elephants".

The presiding deity inside the Sanctum Sanctorum is Lord MahaVishnu worshipped in the form of Sree Krishna.
Lord Krishna is  worshipped according to the routines laid down by Adi Shankaracharya.
It is a 5000 plus year old temple.

When Dwaraka city was submerged  by floods, Krishna asked his cousin and friend Uddhava to get one idol of Vishnu from Dwaraka. Uddhava got an Idol from Dwaraka.
Lord Krishna then called GURU Brihaspathi Muni and asked him to Install his Idol with the help of Wind(Vayu) somewhere in a suitable  place. The Lord of Wind  - Vayu placed the idol in Thrissur in Kerala. The city today is called Guruvayur and the idol is called Guruvayur Sree Krishna.

It is also the only well protected reminiscent of the era of Mahabharata.

Tulabaram or simply called as Spiritual Economics in English  is the main offering to Lord Krishna.
Tulabaram is borrowed from Atharva Veda.

The Tulabaram ceremony involves weighing a devotee on a balance called Tulabaram , while the devotee sits on one side of the balance, an item of equal or more weight is placed on the other side of the balance. This item is now offered to the Deity.

Our Prime Minister offering Tulabaram to Lord Krishna at Guruvayur Sree Krishna Temple.
Offering Lotus flowers is considered the most sacred of all offerings. Besides Tulabaram Elephants can be offered to Lord Krishna.

It is believed that Lord Krishna was the first one to sit on the Balance in Dwaraka, Satyabhama who was Lord Krishna’s wife was proud of her wealth placed several Material Items on the other side, but none could move the platform Balance. Rukmini Devi then placed Basil leaves on the other side, immediately the platform on which Lord Krishna sat rised above..

MORAL : LOVE ALWAYS OVERWEIGHS!

Our Body is a Material and is very HEAVY. When you sit on the Balance of Tulabaram you DON'T RISE.
When you place Items on the other side of the balance with LOVE you RISE AND MOVE UP.
It is spiritual Economics. Love always overweighs.
The items when overweigh your body weight, it  is offered to Lord Krishna, MEANING YOU ARE OFFERING YOUR LOVE TO LORD KRISHNA.

After the Corona Lock Down i plan to visit the Temple and offer Lotus Flowers - Tulabaram to Lord Sree Krishna for guiding me and teaching me the PURPOSE of my Life - My Real Guru.
For teaching me the meaning of EMPTINESS and then filling up the EMPTINESS with LOVE.
Let my  LOVE for you  overweigh my PERISHABLE BODY.
