Today i had been to my school - after having lost my transfer certificate , off late i have been running around to my school very often - if i have to apply for PhD admission i would need them. I hope i pass the UGC PhD Entrance Examination. Let that be.
Christmas celeberations were going on in my school.
I was awed by the whole experience at my school.
Vague memories of KG Class do linger around , but your first stage performance always remain fresh in your memory.
It reminded me of my first school stage performance.
My first school stage performance was singing. I remembered the song which i sang on stage.
My mother taught me how to sing this song , as she was preparing me for Sabarimala pilgrimage that i was suppose to take up with my father.
The song still touch my heart even today.
"Dear Ayappa - Will you not come home as my brother and sit in my heart in the form of Abhayam?" is the translation of the song and i simply love this song even today and its a Mandalam - Sabarimala Season,
that memory reminded me of my pilgrimage to Sabarimala.
To all those who arrived at my blog searching for Sabarimala , this post will help you in your Spiritual journey.
I was 8 year old when i trekked Sabarimala.
I cant still forget the rituals.
2. The broken coconut was then filled with Ghee. Ghee represents life source - soul.
3. Preparing a travel pouch (Irumudi ) with the broken coconut filled with Ghee , Camphor , rose water , sandal wood paste.
My grandfather was a Guruswamy who took thousands of pilgrims to Sabarimala every year was no more then , it was my uncle who took over my grand father's position who taught me and my father how to prepare the Irumudi.
5. A cold bath in Pamba river at 4am in the morning.
6. Trek Uphill bare foot carrying the Irumudi on your head - and the sounds of Swamiye Sharanam Ayappa is still echoing in my ears as if it happened yesterday and not about 30 years ago.
7. Once i entered the sabarimala premise, after removing the life source Ghee from the broken coconut - i put the broken coconut that represents human body into fire , reminds us that our body will one day burn into ashes.
8. After i put the coconut into fire , i then took holy 18 steps with the rest of items along with Ghee.
9.After completing 18 steps i see the holy word - "Tat-Tvam-Asi" written on the top of temple entrance.
In total the meaning of Sabarimala is "Tat-Tvam-Asi"
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tat_Tvam_Asi
"Tat-Tvam-Asi" = Thou Art That , You are that , You are It , Iam inside you.
= What you are searching for is inside you.
= You are the one you seek.
I forgot about this Journey until the time i met with a crowd of whom 99% of them were fighting for survival for women , power and money and then i realised iam different.
They say God is in every human being , but then why are they still entangled in their lower self ?
In the last 4 years i also encountered with source of pure energy that probably explained me the difference.
May be it was a trick of God.
Happy Christmas , Happy Holidays and Happy Mandalam - Sabarimala season to all of you out there.
