Welcome to the Ancient city -Madurai , the recorded history of Madurai dates back to 300BC.
Today i will introduce you to the story of Goddess Meenakshi and how great is Indian Culture!
Goddess Meenakshi , the first warrior Queen of India -is worshiped since 300BC .
Madurai city was built then before 300BC.
This is Madurai Meenakshi Sundareshwara Shakti temple!
Meena means Fish and Akshi means Eyes , the fish eyed warrior Goddess "Meenakshi"
The smell of flowers .
The story of Goddess Meenakshi is all about love and strength
Flowers and Lotus is the main offering,
On the other side i read about Ashifa , an 8 Year old was Gang Raped in India.
Indian culture never underestimated woman.
Today while we are still battling with female foeticide and education for women, the story of Meenakshi is the one significant .
Goddess Meenakshi was the daughter of Pandya King Malayadhwaja and wife Kanchanamala.
The Pandyan King did not have any children , he performed great sacrifice for a long time and then he received a 3 year old female who had 3 Breast from the flames of sacrifice that he was performing.
They welcomed Daughter Meenakshi instead of son who had 3 breasts, educated her and they gave her every tool to make her Fit Queen.
Indian culture always treated woman with great respect.
The tradition here in Madurai is perpetuating equality in gender norms .
Goddess Meenakshi's stories always inspire young girls to become the best more powerful version of themselves.
According to the legend Goddess Meenakshi and Lord Shiva ruled the city of Madurai for a long time
It is also mentioned in History that Goddess Meenakshi 's 3rd breast disappeared when she met Lord Shiva.
The marriage of Lord Shiva and Goddess Meenakshi is still celebrated every year in the city of Madurai until date.
Madurai means Mathuram means "Sweet" in Tamil .

The three Breasted Goddess Meenakshi is still worshiped by the people of Tamilnadu in Madurai!
A country which respect woman today have become like this?
Lets look at Nirbhaya's Rapists!
"These Rapist confessed that every other day there is a rape in North India, but nobody want to talk about it because they are afraid that nobody will ever marry their daughter "
Probably it was woman who encouraged men to reach this level.
Iam re-iterating the Story of Goddess Meenakshi because ours is a country where woman are treated like Goddess , no other country in the world treat woman as Goddess?
But how did we arrive at this kind of culture?
Its not about education , its about Value System and Ethics.
