It was extremely difficult for enemies to enter the fort
As narrated by the wikipedia , Obavva was the wife of a Tower watch guard ..
One fine day….and the story begins..
During the reign of Madakari nayaka the city of Chitradurga was
besieged by the troops of Hyder Ali (1720-1782)
Inspite of tight security there was a place / a hole from where a man
could enter the fort , Hyderali planned to led his army into the fort through
that hole…
The hole
through which Hyderali’s soldiers entered the fort is called as Obbavana Kindi
The watch
guard came home for his meals at noon and during his meal he needed water to
drink ..

Watchguard's wife Obavva went out to fetch water from the pond for her husband.
