Onam Carnival begins today!

To all my followers wish you a very happy Onam!
Onam carnival  begins today  and the last day (Sept 4th )   is popularly known as "Tiruonam"

Onam is the first festival of Shravana Month which began on August 17th according to Malayalam Calander

It is believed that Kerala was once ruled by King Mahabali who belong to Asura / Demon Dynasty.
Prahalad Popularly known as "Bhaktha Prahalad"  was the devotee of Lord Vishnu and King Mahabali was the grandson of King Prahalad who was an ardent worshiper of Lord Vishnu

It is believed that King Mahabali  ruled the Kingdom - Kerala wisely under a sort of protective Umbrella of the Gods particularly Lord Vishnu  , he was wise and benevolent ruler .

King Mahabali was an ardent worshiper of Lord Vishnu just like his Grandfather Bhaktha Prahalad.

Kerala witnessed golden era during  the reign of King Mahabali and everybody was happy and rich and there was no discrimination between rich and poor, there was no crime and corruption in the state of Kerala
King Mahabali was highly respected by his subjects .

According to Vaishnavism Mythology , since King Mahabali originally belongs to Demon Dynasty , the Devas felt threatened by his supremacy  and went to Lord Vishnu to seek his help.

The devas saw that common man no longer worshiped Gods  ,all they wanted was to be happy and secure and who ever provided them with happiness they remained loyal to them , instead of worshiping Gods ,  they worshiped this ardent devotee of Lord Vishnu who was in reality a Demon

Lord Vishnu knew that Mahabali was generous and a very good King and he cannot go violent against him , hence Lord Vishnu  disguised himself as a poor Brahmin and came to the Kingdom and asked King Mahabali  as much as land he could cover in 3 steps.

Just as King Mahabali granted his wish , the poor brahmin grew in size and covered whole of Kerala and sky in 2 steps , there was no space left for 3rd foot , King Mahabali stood on his knees and offered his head to Lord Vishnu to place his foot on his head and push him to netherworld and the very fact why Kerala is known as "God's Own Country" , the Sky , Earth and the nether-land all of which belong to Lord MahaVishnu .

King Mahabali was attached to his Kingdom and people , he requested Lord Vishnu that he could come to Kerala once in a year to visit his Kingdom . Lord Vishnu not only blessed the King , he also said
"even after losing all his worldly possessions ,the king would be loved by Lord Vishnu and his people"
"Unlike any common man who can shift their loyalty to anyone who meet their fundamental requirements, the people here in Kerala will love  you and welcome you even after losing all your worldly possessions as a charity "

It is said that on the day of  Tiruonam "King Mahabali" visits his kingdom , and people of Kerala regardless of their religion , yes Christians , Muslims and Hindus celebrate Onam
Travancore in the south , Cochin in the middle and Malabar in the North regardless of their religion celebrate Onam

Kerala Hindus mainly subscribe to Naga and Vaishnavism centered around Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple and Guruvayur Sree Krishna Temple, apart  from this Lord Ayappa is a predominant God!

I thought of making my Blog a little fitting to my life.

Yes iam a Vaishnava
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaishnavism

True ,sometimes i feel like iam a Kicked Dog and people tend to believe that iam weak , or may be i dont have skills , or may be iam stupid  , or iam not serious or iam just not interested !

I dont mean to hurt any meaningful man / women by claiming that their code of conduct is not correct!
It is because i keep my senses clean and neat!

I believe that Lord Rama is not only present in my senses , but  is running through my body in the form of Blood!

A very happy Onam in a very Kerala style.
