Avani and Valmiki Hermitage

Welcome back ,

Today iam going to write about Ramayana and its super powerful characters.
"Maryada Purushottam Ram"

Lets head to Avani  , a very small village in Kolar located in the state of Karnataka about 55 kms from Bengaluru.

It is believed that Sita Devi gave birth to Lava and Kusha here in Avani inside Valmiki's hermitage.

Before exploring Avani lets understand a little bit of Ramayana

Lets understand who is Ram first
Ram was born to king Dasharatha   , when Dasharatha wanted to crown Rama as the King of Ayodhya , Rama's step mother objected to this as she wanted her son Bharatha to succeed Dasharatha and demands Rama to be exiled into the forest for 14 years

Rama did not demand his rights as rightful heir neither he saw himself as a helpless victim

Rama chose to sacrifice his rights ,he gave up the crown and decided to move to forest and live in the forest for 14 years .

How many of us can do this today ?

Most of us are still like Rama's step Mom lol...  materially attached to  positions and  are attached to lavish stuff specially interested in others rights.

Dont we demand other rights at home , school or at office????

Let me remind you all ,Rama has already proved that Material positions are not important in life , yet..
we participate in the survival of fittest game "giving up our values and ethics " for material positions .
we demand others rights , not just our rights lol...so immature are we?
We have not learnt anything from Ramayana - our Hindu mythology

Let us now talk about Sitadevi
The "Sundara Kanda "part of Ramayana explains the Ramayana war , when Rama killed Ravana to release his wife Sitadevi from Ravana
After the war , Rama ask Sita for an Agni Pariksha to prove her chastity , Rama himself had no doubt about Sita's purity ,  but because he wanted to get rid of rumours which immature people made about Sita  , he asked her to prove her chastity , after the test Sita proved that she was a spotless character

After all these tests one day Rama heard a washerman talking about his wife who ran away and lived with someone else and he compared himself to Rama and said iam not Rama to take my wife back home

Rama was upset - the world is full of Immature people who dont understand anything at all,
Rama knew that nothing would ever convince such Immature people , even today this is so much true , we meet so many immature people in our life everyday ..

Stoic Rama - A person who can endure pain without showing his feeling to others , sent Sita away to the forest so that she lives peacefully and never come in contact with this immature people who talk about her

Sita moved and lived in Valmiki's hermitage , during this period Valmiki was in Avani Karnataka

Now lets explore Avani .

Valmiki wrote Uttara Ramayana here
Uttara Ramayana is all about Sitadevi and her childrens - Lava and Kusha

At the base of Valmiki's heritage (Valmiki Hill) is Ramalingeshwara temple

Friends i want to prove one more thing,

This Kannada song is the proof that we are still so immature
Then we questioned the purity of Sitadevi  and now we are questioning the moral values of Rama.
This song not only questions the  moral values of Rama but is also underestimating Sita.
Sita was a powerful women , a very powerful lady ...according to the song  what Sita wanted from Ram was  only a  "sense of protection "
this statement is simply equating Sita to any normal girl down the street!

Can you imagine how stupid we are ?
Lets grow up ,let us inspire ourselves with  Rama's extreme sacrifice to infuse a healthy dose of selflessness in our relationship .

Rama has set an example to all immature people here , he sacrificed his pregnant wife to teach a lesson to immature people and he knew Sita was a powerful women and she is capable of proving herself ? and Sitadevi fully accepted Rama's decision and decided to sacrifice without finding herself as a victim

So who is the ideal person ? Both Rama and Sita have offered an immortal inspiration to many generations so far .

Iam not married yet and may not be  the right person to write a post here about this here today .
Nevertheless,
Ramayana declares Rama as the ideal person and i too declare Rama as a ideal husband any women would want .
