After the death of Tipu Sultan in 1799 , His Highness Krishnaraja Wadiyar III became the Maharajah of Mysore Officially
Mysore palace was built in 14th century by His Highness King Yaduraya and was later demolished and re-constructed many times by the Maharajah's of Mysore
A new palace was constructed to replace the old palace (built in 14th century) by His Highness Rajarshi Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV under the commission of British Architect "Lord Henry Irwin " in 1897
The construction of the current palace was completed in 1912 and was expanded by His Highness Jayachamarajendra Wadiyar the last Maharajah of Mysore Kingdom
