Entrance of Srirangapatna.
Mysore ,no other place could be a better place to visit during Dasera
The Place which was ruled by my childhood hero -TipoooTippoo’, as the British called him, had taken the title of the ‘Tiger of Mysore’
The secret subway
In the battlefield
It is far better to live as a Tiger for One day rather than living like a jackal for 100 years
A figure of fascination to many Indians even today , Tipu ended his life with a sword in his hand
It is this spot where Tipu Sultan breathed his last in the legendary battle of Srirangapatna against the British in 1799.
A man who died defending his capital Srirangapatana on May 4, 1799,
He was killed due to the betrayal by his own men.
Yes betrayal by his own men known as treachery in Wikipedia
Stories of bravery as well as treachery that led to the fall of the one last Hero ...
Friends -In modern age , the best example to explain treachery would be a workplace
All of us know and understand that workplace has a share of lairs and research shows that even the senior people who spent many years in the same company cheat and lie if they believe that they wont get caught.
This is called Moral Failure leading to Loss at workplace.
This is called as Treachery because by lying and cheating one is violating and betraying the trust the organization has on them , let me tell you "Telling truth and being Honest is a profitable business practice"
Well , all of us are aware of the story of 5 Horses! Krishna ,Arjuna and the 5 horses!
The imagery associated with Bhagavadgita , the true scripture of Human Race!
The 5 Horses represents Tongue , Eyes , Ears , Nose and Skin.
Chariot is the Body
The driver of this Chariot and the Horses is "Our Mind"
Our Mind controls the senses , but our mind is often influenced by the world pleasures
Worldly pleasures called as Fruits/Benefits : sex , money , fame and in the above case of a workplace it could be bonus , promotion and increment and these worldly pleasures make a man lie and cheat for his own self - benefit /fruits .
"कर्मणये वाधिकारस्ते मां फलेषु कदाचन । मां कर्मफलहेतुर्भू: मांते संङगोस्त्वकर्मणि" ।।
Sri Krishna said to Arjuna: You have a right to perform your prescribed duty, but you are not entitled to the fruits of action. Never consider yourself the cause of the results of your activities, and never be attached to not doing your duty."(Bhagwat Gita: Chapter Two verse 47)
There is also a supreme soul -"Atman" -Krishna - God himself residing inside the chariot (Our Body)
This Atma is called Higher Intellect
If we let God himself to control our mind and become a charioteer without worrying about the fruits /benefits then the chariot will be driven to the destination of perfection (Dharma- Righteousness)
And yes the passenger sitting inside the chariot is "Individual -we our self"
Lets get back to our Hero - Tipu Sultan! My Childhood hero
A brave man died of treachery
Tipu Sultan along with his Father HyderAli and Mother Fakr-Un-Nisa
The grave of Tipu is covered in tiger skinThe other graves on the outside are that of his children, wife, brother in law and other relatives.
Gumbaz & the Mosque, the place along with a Mosque was built by Tipu himself during 1782-84 , and he himself was buried here in 1799
