Nandi Hills

60 KM from Bengaluru ..only 60KM
Nandi Hills is an  ancient hill fortress located between chickballapur and Bengaluru district is a perfect weekend getaway. 10KM from chickballapur and 60KM From Bangalore

We left at around 5.45 am in the morning from Heballa , the place where i reside in a cab along with my sister and mother.
As we drove past the the hill , it got breezy , cool breeze .
Early morning drives are divine , the first few clicks on the way ..

As we drove the hills it gets colder.

With my Japanese track fashion..

It got dark due to fog..

It was an awesome early morning journey, a cloud condensation on the hill.

The vegetation of the hills is Eucalyptus.

In Retrospect , there is a Tipu's fort here and when Tipu Sultan came to the hills he stayed here!
Tipu's summer retreat and is a testimony to his history

Amrita Sarovar again Tipu's testimony

Climbing and sitting on the wall is strictly prohibited for human beings , only a Monkey can climb..

Enjoying on the hill top.

Awesome ...

Selfie is prohibited..

Tipu' Drop is a place where Tipu threw this prisoners who were sentenced to death.

It was Tipu's summer retreat until the time Monkey's took over.
A fury animal jumping from tree to tree.

1700 feet high and i got an ice cream for myself as all the hotels were too crowded.

Suddenly a monkey came chasing  me ....A..la...planet of the APES,
The monkey wanted my ice cream , the monkey managed to caught up with me and take my ice cream away

Tears almost rolled into my eyes seeing him eat my ice cream..Then i saw him being attacked by other monkeys and i got some satisfaction ..
hey..he could not  eat my ice cream ......

I reached temple located on the top of the hill

At 1700 feet high ,
A 1000 Plus year old temple

Shiva Temple and Ganesh Temple on the top of the hill, the architecture is a mystic charm
This was constructed by as many as 5 royal dynasities

Adjacent to the temple on top , there is the Shrunga Teertha .
It is said once Nandi dug into earth  with his horns and Ganges overflowed from ground and hence it is called as Shrunga Teertha ,
Shurnga means horn in sanskrit and theerta means holy water

The suicide Point.

A Dravidian  chola style architectures

Clicked mountain , trees and monkeys ..

The right season to visit Nandi Hills

Way back..

The return  downhill journey was spectacular , the fog got lifted and then sunlight was  seen

This peak is something which i wanted to Conquer for a long time by way of Trek or cycling , but this time the intention was to bring some change to mom's emotional atmosphere ,we went by car as she cannot trek !
But next time either i cycle or i trek!
