Christmas holiday tradition in Japan
To many Christmas is a romantic season in Japan!
Although i spent 1 year and 7 months in Tokyo - i understood this mystery today lol...
A week ago at a waxing salon i was shocked to see a big crowd and now i understand the reasons behind this .
Hey ..its not a Christmas season -its a Valentine season! And thats the secret of "Women Looking So Beautiful"
No Wonder i see teenagers so cheerful and beautiful .
There were big crowds at all gift shops .
Now i know why are the girls and boys missing from office lol..
Another shock is that Christmas is a chicken day here .
last year i saw a queue lined up at KFC on the day of christmas and today this year i saw KFC unusually decorated for Christmas!
In a nut shell what Christmas means in Japan??
These are a few Christmassy things in Japan.
1.Romantic affair between couples (yes Christmas is a valentine day) .
but i like the way japanese couples display their love for one other ! They go to expensive restaurants and eat chicken , meat , sushi and cake i suppose.
One thing i like about Japanese woman is that they do a lot of make-up mainly to impress their partners!
one can see women in beauty salons , there are big crowd at Beauty and Waxing Salons and you can see women looking extremely beautiful all dressed up for their partners
Romance in the Air!
2.Irumineshon - lets call illumination - this is the next Christmas thingy in Japan.
3.Christmas Cake - Christmas celebration never ends without a cake.
My Divine Food! The BR Ice-Cream Cake!
4.Finally Food Time : Although a few couples are seen having meat and sushi in other luxurious restaurants!
Chicken at KFC is a tradition in Japan on the eve of Christmas.
It reminds me of Meat- Day 'National heritage day "celebrated in South Africa -
About which i studied long ago for my history exams.
To those of you who are not aware of "National heritage Day"
"National heritage Day" is a festival celebrated in south Africa -its called as "Meat day"
On this day -Babies are given dry meat for teething,so you might end up seeing couples rushing for meat on this day..
Eating Meat- "Braai" on this day is a tradition in South Africa.
Although It is claimed that South Africans are having braais/meat all the time,
but the truth is that because of that day ( heritage day) a whole lot of extra animals are butchered and slaughtered ..
May be similar to Id /Ramadan in Other South Asean Countries.
In a nutshell- Christmas in Japan is similar to the Braai Day/Meat day in South Africa and Id in Other South Asean Countries.
A whole lot of extra chicken on this day -i did not study this for my history exams......lol...
" A very happy Christmas week " and
to all my Japanese friends " have a fantastic /romantic /cheerful / Valentine week"
A glimpse of romance and love is clearly seen on the faces of women .
May God bless you all with happiness , love , romance !
Some places have christmas song!
Thank you for reading my Updated Post!
