Yes when i came to Japan i came with a goal to travel as much as Japan and Mount Fuji Sunrise was on my To-Do list.
I vowed to myself in the last hike that i shall return to the hiking session and here i come Mount Fuji!
What do you think? Did i see the sunrise or not ??? Puzzle !
Well you will get the answer at the end of my Post!
Here i come to conquer the Sunrise!
Mount Fuji is not a Mountain !Its an inactive volcano with red soil stones .
Even if you are a regular at trekking mountains , there is a huge difference between hiking a volcano and mountain.
Reasons.
1. A mountain is usually filled with trees and you never fall short of oxygen.
2.A Volcano makes the soil or stones rock too dry not giving any shelter to trees or plants - Hence Altitude Sickness is one of the major issue one can encounter while hiking Mount Fuji - "Remember Mount Fuji is not a mountain its a volcano"
I was blessed with a perfect climbing weather and started my hike from kawaguchiko station at 5.30 pm in the evening
A return to the next Hiking Session! Ready to conquer 3776 m.
The trail was very crowded- as i started i saw a lot of people descending some with happy faces who said "Konichiwa" and some "Ganbatte"
Ahh someone sleeping fitfully. i wanna try that!
As i reached higher and higher my eyes began to close by itself and i was sure that i was half asleep, my shoulders were swollen due to the heavy backpack
Altitude Sickness began
I started inhaling from my oxygen tank it did not help.
Once when i reached 3450 m high at around 1.30 am in the night , it started raining and speedy winds from nowhere as if i began to fly in the wind lolz...
More over i ate a fatal combination of noodles , chocolates , jelly , dates , banana etc etc etc etc and yes pocari sweat as well.
I started puking and not once puked twice and thrice and lack of Oxygen !
How in the world was I going to make it to the peak before the sunrise….?
"Daijobu desuka" was the only word everybody uttered to me !
A group of Russians saw me and came to my help and they even went in search of escorts available on Mount Fuji.
One of the Russian's in the group came back with 3 escorts to handle me!
The escorts confidently told me that iam suffering from lack of oxygen and i should go back and come back again in Mid Summer and also concluded that Mount Takao was more challenging than this.
The problem with hiking a volcano is lack of oxygen which is what i dont like !
My confidence level was very high and i told the 3 escorts that iam hiking up no matter what? Finally they agreed to stay with me for sometime taking care of me and took me to a mountain hut and convinced them to give me a bed for half an hour.
Climbing Mount Fuji is my dream and i had to make it to the top .
I took rest for one hour in one of the mountain huts at 3450 m high .
I recovered but my only intention that remained was to see the sunrise and sorry no more Photos - i absolutely did not have the energy to click photographs.
It was freezing! My shoulders were already swollen up!
3600 m at around 4 am in the morning my eyes started closing even more!
Half sleeping and half awake - i saw the sunrise dream!
After 3600 m i decided to put my hiking stick inside my backpack and decided to use my hands - as i was still suffering from lack of Oxygen!
The sunrise at 4.45 am it was almost 4.50 am.
The feeling is just too difficult to put down in words.
The count down begins!
Welcome to Mount Fuji Sunrise Episode
A feeling mixed with Anxiety and Excitement ! Waiting for the sunrise.
I could see the sky turning red .
Suddenly a thick layer of cloud passed by and nothing was visible .
Will the sun not greet me in the morning ?
I have come all the way to see you rising!

The most painful experience of my life yet it has been the most beautiful experience of my life.
Its exactly like as if i landed on Mars, the most accomplishing feeling.
The hardest struggles were blessed with the most beautiful sunrise
There is never a night that could defeat the sunrise

The sunshine on the unawakened earth!
The sun as if greeted me with a kiss early morning.
So serene and peaceful..Almost Complete
Poem on Following the "sun"
The fight of darkness is very weak!
The sun Ascends to reveal an endless day,
Because no more will I make the mistake
The night is over finally gone
Yes Almost Complete!
Yeayyyy Complete!
The summit
On my way down !
Ahhh..finally i got my oxygen !
