The 47 Ronin's and their Ghosts in Tokyo

Yes the sensation of the ghosts in Tokyo is usually felt between 2am and 3am …the time with the veils between the world of living and world of dead is the thinnest.  If you are visiting Tokyo Haunted Tokyo Tour  is recommended to understand the ghost and evil culture of Japan.

A sudden change in the temperature, mists getting inside your room , hair on your neck is standing up or you feel that someone is watching you..Woo spooky..it simply means there is a Ghost inside your room.
Yes I have just returned from a Ghost Hunting Trip ….If war-death-earthquake-battle-ghosts piss your pants off -then I suggest you  don’t read my post. Its scary.

So if you’re a game and have strong stomach and want to explore the haunted history or if you are a history buff or a Ghost Hunter or a student who is doing Archaeology this is the post for you! Iam going to tell you something that’s not available in any of the tourist brochures.

Guess what - I was put in charge of Electro Magnetic Field which can detect Ghost , I went through the haunted places of Tokyo from tunnels through graveyards to Sengakuji temple  where the 47 ronin were buried  , and finally the haunted tree where the 47 ronins resides even today, woo spooky…..

There  are many places in Tokyo which is haunted , infact every spot has a haunted history , according to the  Archaeology it is believed that after  great kanto earthquake and fire (1923) and after world war 2  (1939 to 1945)  the dead bodies were stacked up one above the other and were executed under  the school grounds and  children’s playground in Tokyo and many other open spaces and Tokyo is believed to be biggest execution grounds of Japan!  Hence inhabited by the evil spirits.

Even today  in tokyo, at every construction site,  atleast 5 artifacts(form of skull) is obtained and these skulls / artefacts/artifacts (form of Skull)  are  kept In the National Museum Tokyo at Ueno Park ! Hey luckily this Museum is exhibiting some of the artefacts obtained from construction sites in the recent past these days and  I heard  the exhibition will go on until may 6th  at Ueno Park if you are interested.

There  are many  haunted areas in Tokyo like Roppongi , Shinjuku and Shirokane Takanawa ..
Today I explored Shirokane Takanawa and its haunted history. Takanawa is the place where 47 ronin were buried. Yes most of you must be familiar with the story ..

The story goes like this – a group of samurai became leaderless  after their leader Asano was killed by Kira .
Asano was compelled to commit seppuku.
Seppuku According to Wiki is a ritual suicide conducted by samurai’s – a samurai would drive a sharp knife into his GUT and then a second person would chop his head off leaving a bit of skin so that his head would not roll away !

Seppuku..

Japan is the capital of strategy in the world ..here you go !
Want to kill youself ? Give a  try! The tour Guide showed this to us as asked me not to take pictures lol..

Going back to the Story - Asano’s retainers decided to take revenge and waited for 1.5 years planning , after 1.5 years on a snowy day the 14th of December in 1702 , Kira was invited to kill himself the way Asano was asked to kill himself , but looking at trembling Kira  - ronins  decided to cut  Kira’s Head off .
Kira’s head was cut and cleaned.

Post that , ronin themselves was asked to commit seppuku for murdering kira . Now this is how loyalty became a part of everyday life among the Japanese .

Yes thats the grave of Asano Naganori  the lord of 47 Ronin’s..yes iam standing right in front of it,

In the temple premises are the graves of 47 Ronin.

That’s the well where Kira’s head was washed off and cleaned , the well is said to be cursed and if you go close you will pick up curse

Thats Oishi Kuranosuke's grave he was  the leader of 47 ronin .

That’s the stone where Asano’s blood overflowed and Sprays of Blood mysteriously appear on this rock even today during rain. Yes its Haunted.

The spot where one group of Ronin's comitted seppuku , the other is in Roppongi and next in Embassy of Italy.

This is called as Tree of  Blood , i took a lot of pictures hoping that a ghost will appear on any of them .
This tree is a few yards close where the 47 Ronin were graved, even on a day time the tree looks very haunted . Iam sharing a funny story with you , the tour guide left us here and said good bye and I was left alone right in front of the Blood tree and for once I thought iam going to die, if I face my last moments then I will die bravely like a Ronin  is what was running in my mind and in my fantasy world I became a ronin for a moment and  I felt that my stomach was bleeding.

Hey this is the Tree where it is believed that Ronins are residing even today., the Tree  successfully survived the great Kanto earthquake , fire and then the world war 2, you know why ? because ronins reside on this tree even today.

I had a strong sensation that someone was there on that tree,  yes although the tour guide was carrying a ghost detecting device with her , she said our body is the most important device that can detect ghosts , Yes -you can  get a  sensation of the Ghosts here – I did feel the sensation

This is a wooden house which has survived great kanto earthquake -1923 and it is believed that this was earlier house of Geishas in Edo era (1600-1868)

This is a well  of  Edo Period….this was the  Gossip Place to many woman  during Edo period..

Wonder whats this - Thats the tunnel close to the burial site  where the maximum accidents occur in Tokyo and it is believed its the most Haunted Tunnel.of Tokyo.

Sengaku-Ji temple the burial site of 47 Ronin and their lord Asano

At the entrance of the temple , Lord of Ronins - Asano statue is found.

So Ghosts are everywhere in Tokyo , earthquake , fire , war and battles there are artefacts found everywhere in the Ground at every construction site..
Although it did not come out to say hello to me , I could feel the sensation during the trip and hoping that I will be able to meet one of  them tonight , iam fucking serious about it.

Have a nice weekend!
