Step Climbing and Rock Jumping!

In the Western Ghats of Karnataka!
Although i want to chronologically write my post , iam unable to do it - my mind decides the topic !
This was my last trip in Karnataka /India in December 2012 !

Breathtaking view from the high altitude 1380 meters above the sea level !
The landscape surrounding the rock !

It does not matter if I look too small to the world and if the world cannot see me ....
The thrill is that " I can see the World"

In the western ghats of beautiful Karnataka - 60kms away from Bangalore - the IT Capital of South East Asia , is the beautiful rocky hills called as Shiva Gange in the district called as Tumkur .
A quick one day trek trip for Bangaloreans !

1380 Meters above the sea level .The overhanging rock and the trial goes around it verticle making it a little dangerous...There are many hills around this hill and the rocks are made up of mostly granite !

At times climb becomes almost verticle! After a certain point!

The rocks are made of granite and there are  railings for support in the difficult path.
A 2 hour climb all the way to the top .

Thats the suicide spot where iam sitting ! Lolz...
The story behind the spot..!

In olden age In Karnataka- during the reign of King Vishnuvardana - his Queen Shantala practiced dance at behind this spot where there was a large space!

Queen Shantala committed suicide after jumping from this spot because she was depressed of not having children's .- thats the haunting history and it is believed that even today the villagers hear haunted noises around in the Mid-Night! at this Spot where iam sitting !

The Villagers believe that her restless soul wanders for peace even today at around this spot ......

As usual in India on any hill top a temple is found and so there is a temple of Lord Shiva on the top of the Hill!  There is a nandi rock temple at the top of the Hill..

Reached the Top !

On the way one might find a lot of Monkeys ...but i love those angry looking monkeys!

Happy Wasting time !
