Cherry Blossoms ! The symbolism of mortality !
Hana means flower and Miru means to look ! Hanami means
watching flowers!
Hanami is arguably the culture icon of Japan!
Hanami means to view flowers, yes undoubtedly these flowers
are the most photographed flowers in this world .
Why is cherry blossom a symbol of Mortality and Love!
Cherry Blossom is a symbol of mortality in Japan while it’s
a symbol of love in China!
Cherry Blossom buds within a week and then within next week they Bloom and soon the wind carries away
all the petals and they die , it just means that the human life which is not
everlasting is short as cherry blossom and
one should try and enjoy every breath of life .Cherry blossom is a reminder of
fleeting nature of samurai’s the warriors …now in modern day represents the life of human beings
strongly after world war 2 in Japan..hence it’s a symbol of mortality in Japan!
In Contrast , in China Cherry Blossom is mostly related to
female energy and beauty hence it is considered as a symbol of love in China!
Together Cherry Blossom signifies mortality and love!
A few shots of cherry blossoms!
Kamakura!
At Shinjuku Gyoen Park!
At Ueno !
Plum Blossoms a head of cherry and its signifies purity!
Difference between Cherry and Plum !
Cherry has a split end in the petals and Plum does
not have split end in the petals!
A white Plum!
A purple Plum !
During hanami people party – eat and drink while viewing the
delicate pink flowers!
While I personally did not attend to any party I did get a chance to roam around and
see and examine why is it such a big culture icon in Japan!
Sakura Revelers!
A bit of an excuse to drink alcohol for the whole day and even night!
Its cold and windy and cherry have bloomed anyway!
Excuse..may be that because iam a taurean..i love enjoying
the nature and have a little weary of
crowds! Personally yes I don’t like crowds so I had been to a not so
famous geo park close to my house where a few cherry trees were present with hardly anyone around
and there was absolutely no noise!
By the way the fallen petals do have a meaning!
The fallen petals represents a samurai who lost his life in the war! Each petal represents the
sacrifice of a young Japanese who sacrificed his life for the country!
Sitting like a samurai
...On the top of the cliff
Satisfied beyond a point of belief..and enjoying the falling petals very relaxed and content! I love watching flowers this way !
When the sun sets..there are lights to make these cherries
look even more beautiful!
Thats my office where i work ..the tall building exactly behind the weeping cherry tree!
So its already Monday!
