Tokyo Tower ! The Heart of the Japanese !

I was hoping to blog about my trip often and chronologically, but I’m so busy enjoying Japan, that I
decided the less time I spend at the laptop the better

World’s tallest steel structure , the tower is a landmark of sprawling city.

Tokyo Tower (東京タワー) probably comes into most people’s minds when they hear the
phrase “The height is 333 meters.” Tokyo Tower is modeled on the Eiffel Tower.

Tokyo Tower was constructed as a radio tower to deliver TV signals to the Kanto Region in 1958.

At that time, World WarⅡ just ended, Japan had tried hard to reconstruct social system.
It lifted people’s hopes skyward as a new Japan rose from the ashes of war and construction began
in 1957.

In the postwar boom of the 1950s, Japan was looking for a monument to symbolize its ascendancy
as a global economic powerhouse,

Since its completion in 1958 the tower seems to have won a new place in the national imagination,
The change comes at a time when Japan as a whole seems to have lost confidence in its future,
after the natural calamities and world war -or has even resigned itself to slow decline.

Japanese explain its appeal in affectionate terms, describing it as an old friend who had stood
with them through decades of breathtaking social and economic transformation ,helping Japan
making it an economic super power in spite of all the crisis it went through.

What can u see from the observatory?
There was nothing but buildings for as far as the eye could see. There were patches of green here
and there from the city parks, but there was no way to see where the city ended and the country
began. It was magnificent but a little terrifying.

Tokyo at night is one of the best cities in the world to photograph.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, but what’s that? You say the view is missing something, but can’t quite
figure out what it is? Let me give you a hint: Iam standing on it.

It’s also called the “light-out legend”-it’s believed that if a couple watches the light of Tokyo Tower
being switched off together, they will always be happy together.
Tokyo Tower once inspired previous generations with hope for the future, and today too, it
continues to bring special meanings to people in Japan.

Someday even i can watch the same with someone special!lolz

Today Tokyo tower had become harder to spot with the ever more boldly designed glass
skyscrapers .There is a new Tower called as SKY TREE which is almost twice as Tokyo Tower!
But the new tower started in May 2012  does not carry so many emotions which the Tokyo Tower carry in the mind of the Japanese

On the first floor of Tokyo Tower an aquarium, wax museum, and an amusement center for the kids and kids at heart is found!
Tokyo Tower has a  a wonderful wax museum and something called "Space Wax" that is full of holographic
exhibits.

If you ever visit Tokyo, you would be missing an extraordinary spectacle if you did not visit the

An wax museum and several more attractions can be found on the ground floors of the tower.
Separate entrance fees apply.
